in October, 2005 Todd Gambill and a group of his friends went on safari and witnessed the majesty and beauty that is Africa...In April, 2007 The Kageno Harambee fundraiser was covered in Town & Country magazine. A new "Place of Hope" will be established...

"In October, 2005 I visited Kenya with my partner, Tim Watkins and our friends Kenn Karakul, Jim Held, Drew Murphy and Michael Golder. We were fascinated by the spectacular game viewing and the opportunity to meet members of the local tribes. Nothing touched us more, though, than our visit to a primary school on the incredibly remote Mfangano Island, a place so rural that an automobile made an appearance this year for the first time in the island's history. It was truly a life-changing event to see the optimism and determination of the students and the teachers in such a primitive environment with such extreme poverty. After our visit we received a request by the headmaster to help the students by building a new school on land that had been donated by a parent. With a set of core friends on New Year's Day, 2007, we've pledged the funds to start Phase 1 of building the new school and its core infrastructure. We need your help in completing this endeavor."
"Thank you for your incredible generosity in supporting the efforts of Kageno-Mfangano."
