Three-year-old Alan lives with his elderly grandmother after his single mother left the village. With limited means, his grandmother struggles to provide for him.

When he was younger, Alan was admitted to Kageno’s Malnourished Feeding Program, where he received balanced meals three days a week. Kageno also provided the family with chickens for eggs and established a kitchen garden to help provide nutritious food at home.

Alan now attends Kageno Nursery School, where he receives two nourishing meals each school day while learning to read, write, and count. He is an active little boy who loves playing football.
