John Nshimiyimana

Five-year-old John is a student at Kageno Nursery School where he is learning prewriting, reading, counting, and English.

John was born into a very poor family whom Kageno has assisted by helping them construct a vegetable sack garden.

Each day, John looks forward to his school breakfast and lunch which are the only regular meals he can rely on. If not for these meals, he would be unable to focus on learning and could fall into malnutrition. He is a curious and playful child who enjoys playing with toy airplanes.
